The North American Marine Alliance (NAMA) is seeking a full-time Communications Organizer to implement effective communications and network engagement strategies. The Communications Organizer is an important team member, providing communications, outreach, and educational support to advance the mission, vision, and initiatives of NAMA and our interconnected networks.
Working closely with the Director of Communications and Content Strategist, the Communications Organizer helps coordinate cross-movement common framing and messaging for external audiences. This person ensures NAMA’s social media and online presence are up to date and organized; shares news with our partners and ally networks; and develops educational content and event opportunities. The individual will report to the Director of Communications.
NAMA is an at-will and equal opportunity employer. The Communications Organizer is a full-time, non-exempt position. The salary range for this position is $55,000-$63,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with experience and location. NAMA reimburses staff for 100% of their health, dental, and vision insurance premium costs and 50% of their dependents. We offer a Simple IRA with a 3% employer match, generous holiday, sick leave, and personal time off.

The Community Organizer is an important member of our team at NAMA. Working with NAMA’s Organizing Director support for grassroots and other network members, as needed, to increase the visibility and success of our overarching goals.
We are an at-will and equal opportunity employer. The Community Organizer is a full-time non-exempt position with a salary range of $54,000 - $63,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with experience and location.

Web-Based Communications Intern - Don't Cage Our Oceans (DCO2)

DCO2 is currently seeking one communications intern to assist with a wide array of communications activities with a focus on social media and design. We have social media accounts that need to be maintained in creative and engaging ways. Additionally, new materials – fact sheets, newsletters, reports, and other educational and outreach items – need to be formatted and designed. Responsibilities include the following: social media postings, creating user-friendly formats, design and layout for materials and more - use your own style and creativity!
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Strong social media and graphic design skills with at least one years’ experience (personal or professional);
- Experience or knowledge of Canva is preferred;
- An understanding of how communications strategies advance a public interest agenda;
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, organizational skills, and attention to detail; and,
- An interest in fisheries, sustainable agriculture, and/or food systems.
Duration is 3-6 months, depending on interest and availability. Students will receive class credit.

Research Intern - Don't Cage Our Oceans (DCO2)

DCO2 is currently seeking a research intern to strengthen our informational capacity and academic foundation to oppose the development of offshore fish farms in the United States. Specifically, we are looking to complete the following projects:
- Corporate Profiles: We are in the process of compiling information on entities that are aggressively pushing for OFF. We need support in the final push! All the corporate profiles will be compiled into one report, to be released in 2024.
- Science Library: DCO2 is looking to create a Science Library with easy reference to scientific articles that support our position to ban industrial fish farms in federal waters. This library would also include easy to find experts on specific issue areas. Many articles are already uploaded, they simply need to be organized and entered into a database/spreadsheet.
- Update previous research projects that reflect government funding of industrial aquaculture, as well as data on import/export statistics on seafood.
- Short research inquiries, as necessary.
